When we think about being stuck, we don’t see it as something we want to do. On the contrary, being stuck is what you want.
But I’d like to offer a different take on being stuck. Being stuck is a good thing, if you are Stuck...on Purpose.
So many people are trying to find their way to the place where they will grow...to the place where they will flourish...and to the place where they will feel comfortable. It’s like the feeling you get when you slide your feet into the best fitting shoes ever!
Excuse me, I don’t mean to suggest that operating in your purpose always feels good or that by any stretch of the imagination it is easy. But what I will tell you is that there is nothing else like it in all the earth. You’ll experience liberation like never before. The ‘place’ is almost indescribable.
When I think about someone who was Stuck...on Purpose, I think about George Washington Vanderbilt. I had the privilege of visiting the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina in 2012 and it was absolutely beautiful. Prior to the visit, I researched the history of the Biltmore and it made my heart smile to know that George brought his vision to fruition. Of course it took a lot of money, planning, and the involvement of others, but he was purposed to build this estate. And the fact that it came to pass tells me that he was stuck on making it happen.
I encourage you to continue seeking your purpose. Don’t give up on your dreams. Don’t negate the burning in your soul that is beckoning you to do the thing that you love the most. And if anyone tries to pull you away from your purpose, don’t let them. Let them know you like being Stuck...on Purpose!
